Consultation:

The doctors at American Chiropractic Center will provide a consultation with each new patient to determine if they feel that the patient has a condition that can be treated with chiropractic.

Examination:

The doctor then conducts a thorough neurological and orthopedic examination to determine the extent of the injuries or conditions.

Digital X-Rays:

X-rays are taken only if necessary, using safe, modern equipment.

Surface EMG:

The doctors will use sophisticated computerized equipment to help detect patterns of vertebral subluxation. By measuring skin temperatures along your spine they can find nervous system disturbances that may affect other vital organs.

Foot Scan:

Depending on the condition, the doctor may perform a digital foot scan to determine how your gait affects your upper body.

Report of Finding:

The doctor will then take the time to go through and explain, in detail, what he has found and will make the appropriate recommendations for care.

Chiropractic Adjustment:

Our Chiropractic doctors are trained in several different adjusting techniques, including low force adjusting, and will choose the technique that best suits your body and condition.

Massage Therapy:

There are a number of soft tissue therapy techniques which can be successfully employed to assist in the reduction of pain and muscle hypertonicity and spasm. Some of these include massage therapy, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular re-education and stretching. Depending on your condition and response to treatment we may incorporate one or more of these therapies into a treatment plan.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points.
The use of acupuncture aides in the treatment of a wide range of medical problems, including:

  • Digestive disorders: gastritis and hyperacidity, spastic colon, constipation, diarrhea.
  • Respiratory disorders: sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma, recurrent chest infections.
  • Neurological and muscular disorders: headaches, facial tics, neck pain, rib neuritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, various forms of tendonitis, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis.
  • Urinary, menstrual, and reproductive problems.

Decompression Therapy:

Discs have been shown to be a predominate site of pain, so treating it as directly as possible makes sense. The blending of focused traction to the site, rehabilitation to the supporting structures, and overall strengthening of global musculature makes this treatment unique. Decompression Therapy affects the disc as directly as possible without surgery.
